Kurashiki Ivy Square, a historic hotel since 1889, stands 300 metres from Bikan Historical Quarter. This former red-brick cotton mill features 2 restaurants, a bar, and gift shop. Air-conditioned rooms have cherry-wood furniture and flat-screen TVs. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Ohara Museum and JR Kurashiki Train Station is nearby. It is an official Heritage of Industrial Modernisation site with an on-site art gallery.

Access from the historic district was very convenient, and the overall vibe of the hotel was excellent. The breakfast tasted great. The touch-screen air‑conditioning controls in the room were cumbersome.

朝食は最高で、種類も多くて、美味しくて、サービスも完璧です。ただ、もう一つだけ希望できるなら、コーヒーの質を上げてほしいところです。カフェラテやカプチーノや他の選択が可能ならそれを期待します。 さらに今回良かった点は、中庭でキャンドルイベントがあって、キャンドルが作れるワークショップもあり、ステージにはたくさんの綺麗なキャンドルが飾られて、そこで写真を撮れるようにもなっていて参加型のファミリーやカップルのプログラムがあるのは微笑ましいと思いました。そして、ホテルの裏の入り口にストリートピアノがあって誰でも弾けるのもコミュニケートができるいいアイデアです。. チェックアウトの時に、2枚のうちの１枚のキーカードが部屋中探しても見つからず、罰金を千円払いました。 後で見つかったらカードを送ってください、と言われたて、翌日見つけたので、ホテルに電話をしたら、送り返しても返金はできない、カードはもう破棄してください、とのことでした。年に２回、一時帰国のたびに毎回、アイビーに泊まっている常連客には少しは寛容であってもいいかな、と思いました。
