“Dharamshala is nice place but overcrowded.”

The property and staff are solid, but the location can be tricky if you’re not a good walker. There’s no parking on site, so the hotel arranges it for you. If you’re driving, watch the route from Dharamshala to McLeodganj—don’t take shortcuts, it’s a frustrating road. It pays to ask the staff ahead of time for the best way. They’re friendly and will even cook dinner on demand for certain guests. Once you get there, it’s a nice, quiet, relaxed place. On weekends or rush hour, getting to the hotel is tough. Traffic from Dharamshala to McLeodganj is bad. If you’re not in great shape, the steep climb can be a problem. You can’t drive inside the city and public transport is poor. Taxis are pricey—800 rupees for a 6 km trip one way.

The owner/manager was incredibly helpful and the location is great. It’s a bit tricky to find or get to, but it’s worth it.

“Great place near all the action, with kind and caring staff.”

I was traveling alone and accidentally booked in an area I didn’t intend to. Sammie was very reasonable and let me cancel 2 of the 3 nights, though he said I might change my mind, which I did—thanks to his and his staff’s care and lovely attitude. The location can be a bit of a challenge for anyone with mobility issues, but the comfortable, clean, quiet room just off the busy Main Street, the attentive, courteous and responsive staff, and Sammie’s genuine, caring help make up for the steep walk. I had a perfect stay thanks to the people at Nomadic Inn and would highly recommend them, especially if you’re traveling solo. The only downside is that getting to the place from the main square or taxi stand can be tough for someone with mobility issues or carrying heavy stuff, even though there are people staying higher up along the path all the way up to Dharamkot.

“Excellent location, comfortable stay in Bhagsu”

Great spot just off the main road in upper Bhagsu. The room was large, modern, and very clean, with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is included and there’s a kitchen to order food. The staff are professional and friendly. I stayed 5 nights, then extended for 10 more in a smaller room. The roof top offers nice views. There are nice cafés nearby (Sunny’s, Magic Tree). A fridge and hair dryer in the room would have been perfect.

Location, cleanliness, food, rooms, balconies, views—everything was perfect, but the staff made the place special: attentive, kind, welcoming, polite, just everything. We stayed as a group of about 10 people, all of us having traveled the world, and we all said the same thing: amazing place with amazing people 🙏🙏
