The breakfast was perfect, the room was clean with a nice bed, the interior was dated but I liked it, the bar games room and entertainment area were good, and the price was excellent—worth a generous 9 stars, maybe even 7/8 out of 10. The downside was that because of a long pipe on the right side of the building, my room took 5 minutes, as noted on the wall, to get hot water, which barely filled the bath and didn’t allow for a shower; there were no shampoos in the room, the games room needed tidying, and the gamblers weren’t working.

Ashley Court Hotel delivered great value, with a comfy room that had two beds, a desk, and a spacious bathroom; the complimentary breakfast was tasty and the staff were friendly and efficient, always smiling and quick on their feet, while housekeeping was prompt and thorough. The walls were a bit thin, so hallway noises and neighbors could be heard, but the older property made that expected and easy to ignore.
