The place looked pretty good online, but when I got there it was a letdown. The room was tiny, the furnishings were basic, and there was barely any extra stuff to enjoy. It felt like a lot of hype for a very modest stay.

The beach was close and the neighborhood was safe and quiet, which was a big plus. But the distance to the shops and the pool was annoying, and the wind on the top floor made it hard to sleep.

The location was fine, but the apartment was a disaster. I arrived to a mess of boxes, dust, and no water—none of the facilities worked. The staff only fixed the water the next day, so I spent a whole day stuck inside. The owner was rude, saying “I didn’t expect you,” and tried to charge extra. It felt like the place was still under construction, not ready for guests, and no apology was offered. Finding a replacement was a nightmare because everything was booked.

The spot felt like a tiny village out in the world—beautiful and secluded. But the owner gave us the wrong key code, and we couldn’t reach her at all, so we had to ask the neighbors for help. On top of that, ants were everywhere, making the stay uncomfortable.

The Murdeira area itself is pleasant, but the constant power and water outages really ruin the stay. We arrived to find a whole apartment with no water, filthy floors and mattresses that were basically cardboard, even though we’d paid in full before we left. The next day a woman knocked on the door, shouted that we hadn’t paid and tried to charge us again, then the water went off again and they moved us into a shared unit with strangers without any notice.
