The place felt cozy and spotless, and the host sister was incredibly welcoming.

The spot in Shijuku was excellent, giving plenty of room for Tokyo and offering a very good price‑for‑value. The basement where our room was had a pronounced damp odor.

Since I had lived in Okubo while in Tokyo, I was familiar with the area and found it easy to navigate. When I got back to the hotel late at night and was chatting, someone in the room next door knocked on the wall and shouted in a language I didn’t recognize; even while showering, that same neighbor kept hitting the wall. The walls let sound leak even at normal conversation volume, so it might only be suitable for sleeping.
