Being close to the station was a plus, and although the scenic district required a short walk, there were plenty of shops to enjoy along the way—nothing to complain about.

The accommodation was near the station and I saw a breakfast voucher for 1000 yen when booking, but the price had risen to 1400 yen at purchase; the Japanese buffet was sincere. The room was average, quite comfortable for one person, but the bathroom inexplicably had a smell that didn’t go away even after running the machine for two days—slightly annoying. A luggage scale was available to borrow. Communication could be more proactive, such as using translation software. The front desk spoke Japanese, but my phone’s Japanese translation was understood, which was reassuring.

The station was within easy walking distance, but they didn’t give me any feminine toiletries, the room reeked of cigarette smoke and I couldn’t settle in, couldn’t sleep at night, the hallway smelled just as badly, and I wasn’t able to switch to a non‑smoking room, which left me feeling awful.

The location was very good and the staff were charming, but the facilities were very old for the price.

The hotel is close to the historic district and the amenities are plentiful, though there aren’t enough parking spaces.
