Nestled in Schwerin’s historic Old Town, the family‑run Zur guten Quelle occupies an 18th‑century half‑timbered building. Guests enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet and a renowned restaurant serving local cuisine. Rooms combine modern comfort with warm hues, some preserving original timber framing. A modest beer garden offers a relaxed spot to sip draft beer while watching city life unfold.

Sehr gute Lage. Das Personal eine 1+. Sehr grosses, komfortables Zimmer. Das Restaurant hat seinen alten Charme bewahrt und ist sehr gemütlich. Sie geben am Vorabend ihre Wünsche für das Frühstück an und wird ihnen morgens um,,ham Tisch serviert, was uns sehr gefallen hat

The place is very central. The room is clean with basic equipment. The staff are pleasant. The restaurant has six rooms in the hotel. You must send your breakfast choices by email (download a document, fill it out and return a scanned copy) or fill it in when you arrive. Checking in with a car is difficult because the streets are pedestrianised. There is no Wi‑Fi in the room.

The breakfast is rich. The Wi‑Fi connection is poor.

The inn feels very family‑run, civic, and old‑world, located in the city centre and near the castle. We stayed in the attic room, which was really large and well equipped. Breakfast was served at the table to our liking. Since we arrived late in the afternoon and only stayed one night, we only read too late that the on‑site restaurant serves very good food. Because we hadn’t booked in advance, we couldn’t try it :-( We would definitely book again.

The location is great, but you can’t park directly at the hotel, though we knew that beforehand. Nearby there are plenty of parking spaces. The reception was very friendly. The room is very nice, the beds comfortable. The breakfast is excellent; you gather the night before and it is served at the table. The restaurant is also recommended. We stayed only one night. Everything was fine.
