“Will definitely rebook again.”
The hosts were extremely friendly, polite, and welcoming. I felt a personal touch that you don’t get from the big chain hotels.
“Meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean in a prime position with excellent views”
The Anchorage was impeccably clean and tidy. The hosts take pride not only in their Grade II listed home and B&B but also in delivering excellent, friendly service and being very accommodating. Breakfast was great, and they’re very knowledgeable about the local area and attractions. The Anchorage offers prime views of the harbour to the back and the beach to the front, with fabulous sights at breakfast. It’s within easy reach of bus stops and the train station. I can’t fault the service or cleanliness of this B&B, and I’d rate it as the best I’ve stayed in over many years. The only drawback was that I didn’t realize when booking that the single room had a separate toilet and bathroom; it did say private, which is for that single room only, while the double rooms are en‑suite. I also found the end of the beach to be noisy, though I’m sensitive to noise.

The location is brilliant, the rooms are very comfortable, the environment is calm, and the views are lovely.

I felt relaxed, enjoyed a good breakfast, and slept comfortably in a cozy bed. Everything I needed was there, so I had nothing to complain about.
“Sarah and Jamie were excellent hosts, Sarah gave us some excellent recommendations as to eating out.”
Breakfast was excellent, and the guest house is literally just yards across the road from the beach!
