There’s nothing good to say. Compared with similar hotels the breakfast quality drops, the TV only shows terrestrial channels with no BS options—hardly what you expect today, and the large public bath was shared by men and women on alternating slots, which feels outdated for a modern hotel.
The hotel is quite comfortable and very Japanese, featuring Japanese‑style hot springs with a lovely forest view from the water, a very quiet place that feels like the Hotel of the Radiance—laughs, not in architecture but in the vibe. It’s served by the Hakone cable car and you can walk around the lake, though the area is sparsely populated and has little commerce.
Although the hotel is far from the station, it was only a ten‑minute walk to the conference venue; however, despite booking a room that included breakfast, no breakfast was actually provided.

The room was spacious, yet the communal bath operates on a swap‑in‑swap‑out schedule and, because the door has no lock, you can see the changing area as soon as you open it, which is unsettling for female guests; also the signs to the second parking lot were confusing, so I ended up using a coin‑operated lot.
The big public bath was great for relaxing and I appreciated the free parking, but the building and its fixtures look old‑fashioned, as if they were taken over from a former staff dormitory.
