“Too noisy!”
The cabin was nice, comfortable and clean. Unfortunately we were in an Autumn cabin right next to the road, so it was very noisy. That night there was a Banger car racing event nearby and we weren’t told about any of that. We were woken by road noise at 5 am! The staff mentioned a few paddocks but they couldn’t move us, so we left the day after we arrived. It ruined my birthday! I let them know but they didn’t want to help at all. Not the relaxing break we had hoped for.

It’s beautiful, I love it. Everything.
The setting was lovely with beautiful grounds, the lodge was clean and well equipped, and we loved the outdoor bath—it was a nice treat! Although we had a lovely time, there were a few things that annoyed us. On the first night the lodge felt and smelled a little damp. The Wi‑Fi router didn’t work, so we couldn’t watch TV outside or inside unless we used our phone data, which was also tricky because the signal wasn’t great. The shower in the bathroom leaks and soaks the floor as it sprays to the side. In the bathroom there’s a panel that has come off the boiler, leaving a big hole, which we think let a few really big spiders into the lodge. There was only one toilet roll—wish we’d known that beforehand so we could have bought our own. Only one side of the toaster works. The sofa looks lovely but is actually really uncomfortable. The back‑door lock and latch are hard to lock and unlock, and the key lock is broken, opening whether you enter the code or not. These points are not complaints but just things the hosts should be aware of.
The private garden is fabulous, the outdoor bath is amazing, and it’s a lovely quiet place to escape to. The lodge is extremely clean and has everything you could need. It got a bit cold outside, so maybe an outdoor heater would help.

What a lovely time we had from the moment I opened the gate and saw the double‑ended bath—I was as happy as anyone could be because the advert showed a very small round bath, so we were delighted. That’s why we tried to upgrade to a double‑ended bath but we couldn’t because they were fully booked, and I’m pleased we couldn’t. Very enjoyable. All perfect.
