“Uncomfortably interesting.”
The sunrise views and birdwatching were beautiful, the place was close to the road, rooms were large, and the concept sounded promising and affordable. The room was poorly insulated, had not been cleaned before arrival (dust, long dead insects, dried plants), rain seeped in and soaked our clothes, and termites left wood dust everywhere. The owner fell asleep before we arrived on time, treating us like a nuisance. No staff were available during the day. Although free Wi‑Fi was offered, the signal was almost nonexistent; a heads‑up would have helped. The cabins felt cramped; we even saw one that could hold about thirty people with a single bathroom. The owner gave us a short bird‑watching tour that felt cheap compared to a full‑day tour by two experienced guides nearby, and it seemed more like greenwashing to lure tourists into spending on an “eco” label rather than truly supporting local wildlife.
