The reception, the friendliness and the owners’ availability were excellent. The house was cozy and comfortable, fully equipped for cooking during the two‑week stay. No complaints.

The lounge was comfortable and the kitchen was a good size. The beds were firm and the garden was lovely.

The house was well equipped with everything a family needs. The rooms were spacious and staying in the garden was very pleasant. The property is a good starting point to explore the north in any direction. The internet worked well. Jenny was very courteous, reachable and helpful. What bothered me most was that the rating was inaccurate because the same person (Woz from GB) gave five 10‑point reviews without comments on 14.02. and 04.03., which distorted the overall score and misled me. I only discovered this after the fact, wondering how the high rating was achieved. The driveway to the property is not very inviting and is untidy, as the house sits directly next to a cow shed and is used for agriculture, which the description omitted. The accommodation is dated; for example, a bedroom lock barely works because the knob is loose, making the door difficult to open and close, so we didn’t use that room. Some pots lack knobs as heat protection. Traffic noise was too loud and very disruptive; sleeping with the window open was impossible—especially on the upper floor in summer, even in Scotland. We didn’t get used to it after nine days. The winter garden is a nice place to sit together, but you can’t sit there in the sun because of extreme heat. There were many cellar beetles and wasps, and corresponding traps were spread throughout the house. The charming character of the presumably once‑beautiful stone house is hardly preserved by an unskilled renovation. The ground‑floor bathroom is very dark, cold, and the radiator there never warmed up. The bathtub is probably very old and historical, but it doesn’t invite you to bathe in it.

The farmhouse was lovely, and we stayed for five nights. The owner was very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. There were four bedrooms, a conservatory, a large kitchen with all utensils. Both upstairs and downstairs bathrooms were present, the entire house was very clean. All appliances worked well. We didn’t need anything extra and felt right at home. The log burner completed the experience; we were warm and cozy, watching the fire while sipping whisky from the distillery. A wonderful stay!
