The location itself was small‑scale. The beds were a bit wobbly, so sleep was not great.
“Geweldig verblijf”
We had a fantastic stay at I Gergoni! Carlo and Paula were wonderfully kind and attentive hosts. The cottage was fully equipped, just like home, and a great base for day trips. Because we slept with the windows open at night, we regularly heard the train.
“Lovely group of villas in a bucolic setting. A perfect holiday.”
Four of us shared a 3‑bedroom villa that was clean, well‑stocked, and lovely. It was in the countryside a short drive from the hill‑top town of Monteleone d'Orvieto, and we could easily drive into the village and the towns of Orvieto and Civita de Bagnoregio. Carlo recommended an exceptional restaurant in Monteleone, and we ended up going truffle hunting with the owners – an extraordinary experience. Our only regret was not spending more time at the lovely swimming pool or having more time to chat with Carlo. Not much else.
“Piacevole esperienza”
The structure in the Umbrian countryside was beautiful, the rooms were welcoming and well‑kept, and the cleanliness was extreme. It’s perfect for those seeking tranquility yet convenient for exploring Umbria, and the pool was very nice and relaxing. Carlo and Paola were wonderful hosts. Finding a flaw was hard, but we stayed during a week of very high temperatures and the lack of air‑conditioning was noticeable, even though the bedrooms had ceiling fans and there were several portable fans.
“Ein Landgut um die Seele baumeln zu lassen”
The very nice hosts Carlo and Paola created a little paradise. The spacious house had a great terrace overlooking the cypress‑lined driveway and the wide valley. The large kitchen was fully equipped for self‑catering. A well‑stocked supermarket was just a few minutes' drive away. The estate’s huge garden was well maintained, and there were shaded parking spots for cars. The pool was enormous, with plenty of loungers, even in the shade. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return.
