Nestled 6 km from Cotopaxi National Park’s entrance, Chilcabamba Lodge offers rustic‑styled rooms with heating, private bathrooms and showers. Guests enjoy a daily breakfast of cereals and fruit, plus an on‑site restaurant serving regional cuisine. Free private parking, proximity to Pedregal Town, and a two‑hour drive to Quito provide convenient access to outdoor exploration and city attractions.

Staff were very friendly and the rooms were beautiful. The fireplace was a real highlight. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were the best we’ve had in all of Ecuador—truly fantastic! The downside was that the front‑desk receptionist was somewhat inflexible about booking tours; everything had to be arranged at least 24 hours in advance. When we were late, she didn’t really help and left us with a “not possible” statement.

The facilities are spectacular, very cozy, the décor is lovely, and the view of Cotopaxi is ideal. Breakfast was also very tasty. In my room, they left trash from the previous reservation and there was a bracelet on the floor that wasn’t ours—cleaning could definitely be improved.

We loved everything; the lodge is set up with great care, very close to Cotopaxi National Park, with amazing volcano views from the dining room. The junior suite we stayed in was wonderful, spacious and comfortable, with plenty of spots to relax after a day of hiking. Breakfast was delicious and the staff attentive. Many activities can be booked with local guides to support regional development. The only drawback is that the room lacks a good reading light at night. The access road is in bad shape and under construction, but that’s common to all accommodations in the area.
