There’s nothing to praise here. The car park was a mess, the bathroom was poorly fitted, and the restaurant shut early, forcing us to grab takeaway from a local Chinese spot. The bedding and towels were clean, but the room was shabby, and breakfast was very basic. All in all, it felt overpriced and a big letdown.

The hotel sits nicely in central Hayle, with a decent restaurant just around the corner at Salt. It’s definitely worth a visit for food, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast was good, and the chef was efficient. The room was comfortable and clean but clearly needs updating; it was warm, so I kept the window open and heard a lot of outside noise. Some rooms’ shower thermostats need replacing, and the pressure is rising.

The staff were great, the bar beer was good, and breakfast was fine. The price is high, and the rooms feel run down.

We appreciated the old‑style grandeur and the magnificent artwork; the place was spotless and the staff excellent. The location is ideal for Coastpath walkers, sitting on the path and close to the train station and buses. Everything feels a bit tired and could use a makeover. On our first night we stayed in room 10 on the second floor and the Wi‑Fi didn’t reach that far; a few days later we were in room 1 on the first floor, which was large, grander, and everything worked.
