Great central location and friendly staff.

The spot was close to Utrecht’s center and a short walk to venues, but the hotel was surrounded by scaffolding and ongoing construction. Inside, the bathroom window offered no blinds or curtains, so I had to sit on the toilet while builders worked right outside my window. The lobby smelled like raw sewage, though the smell didn’t reach the top floor where we stayed. Throughout the night, a constant water‑running or fan‑like noise persisted, and during a couple of business meetings in the room, the impact nail guns and shouting of workers were audible. The staff apologized and gave us a continental breakfast to make up for it. The rooms were more like small self‑catering spaces with a hotplate, a single butter knife, and a pot—apparently they don’t cook. The fridge had some reasonably priced cold drinks. It took me 20 minutes to get into the hotel because my phone had no signal and I rang all three bells, not knowing there was no front‑desk staff available all day. The staff were friendly when we finally saw them. There was no lift, so I’d advise against it for anyone with mobility issues.

The staff were very helpful and the location was perfect for us, but the bathroom was extremely small.

The staff were very friendly, the location was great, and the breakfast on the room was good. However, this isn’t a boutique hotel—there’s a lack of style and attention to décor. The room wasn’t clean, with various dirt such as a used toothpick, and several items were broken (chair, TV, Luxaflex). The furniture was old and uncomfortable to sit on, giving the hotel a run‑down feel. During our stay, the room was surrounded by scaffolding and construction supplies were left inside (see photo). There was a slight sewage smell on the lower floor, one bed was crooked so you rolled to one side, and I had two questions before our stay that never received a response. Overall, the price‑quality ratio is unacceptable.
