“Amazing place”
We stayed at an eco resort in Nilaveli during our two-week holiday from the Netherlands, and it was a wonderful experience. It is a beautiful and peaceful place in the Trincomalee area, surrounded by nature. The environment was very clean and relaxing, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our room and bathroom were spotless, and we really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and beautiful garden. What made our stay especially memorable was the amazing lagoon breeze. It was so refreshing and peaceful. We truly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and eco-friendly stay in Nilaveli. No pool
“Cobwebs, dusty, dingy, overpriced! AVOID!”
They refunded part of our money. I booked the Cocolagoon Eco Resort for my honeymoon with my wife. Pictures and Google made the place look beautiful, but in reality it was not. It looked like a makeshift stay on farmland. The chalets/villas were tiny, much smaller than anywhere else we had stayed in Sri Lanka. This was also our most expensive stay of the entire trip. The room was small, dingy, dusty and old. You could see the staff only did a light dusting. Cobwebs that had been untouched for years sat between their cupboard and wall (picture attached). The staff looked bored and uninterested in us. There was also a very aggressive dog on the property growling at us. For the price they charge, this is probably the worst stay you can choose in Sri Lanka. You would be better off with a homestay or guest house. We booked for three nights but did not even stay for an hour. I will note that they refunded two nights of my three‑night booking.
The staff were friendly, but the photos were outdated and we were very disappointed; they only accepted cash, claiming it was stated in the booking, which we hadn't seen.
“August 2026”
The location was fine for a few beach days. The price of this place seems disproportionate to the basic amenities offered. Breakfast was acceptable, but a metallic ceiling caused significant noise at night, especially with strong winds, so the overall value of this accommodation is not favorable.
“Una struttura fantasma”
The place was terrible and poorly managed, nothing good to say.
