The staff were lovely and the location was ideal; Royal Gardens is within walking distance of everything—no trolley needed to reach Ala Moana, just a 25 m stroll to the centre, Macy’s, a 10‑minute walk to the top Poke Bar on Waikiki Beach Walk, and a quick 15‑minute walk to Ross Dress For Less on Seaside Ave. All buses stop on Kuhio, only 200 m away, to take you to Diamond Head, Bishop’s Museum, Arizona Memorial, or Ala Moana—perfect!

The hotel is very central and, despite being an older building, it was high quality when constructed; the staff were excellent and the place overall very pleasant, and the lady teaching hula was outstanding.
