Breakfast was served at the table and was superb. The restaurant kitchen was also exceptionally good. The only thing missing was an elevator.

The staff were lovely, the newly renovated room décor was very nice, and the dining table was very good. No complaints.

The room (No. 16) was very large and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly. The chef cooks very well, so it’s worth dining there in the evening. Breakfast is pre‑ordered and then served, which makes it less hectic than the usual buffet. The selection leaves no desire unmet and you can reorder. Good public transport links to Freiburg or Breisach via S‑bahn (the station is a few minutes’ walk away). The local transport card is included in the room price. There was no refrigerator or coffee maker in the room.

The breakfast concept is unique: you pick from a wide range of dishes and drinks the night before and they bring it to your table at the time you want in the morning, which is very sustainable because it cuts down on waste and packaging.
