“STRUTTURA IN POSIZIONE CENTRALE MA NON PIU' DI UNA NOTTE”
We chose this place because of its central spot in Bagnolo, wanting to catch the Ferragosto concert in the Alpi Cunensi and we needed accommodation close to the town centre without having to drive. Arriving at the historic Piazza San Pietro, we found the Caffetteria La Vecchia Piazza, where a very kind and professional girl gave us all the directions. Room VIOLET is on the second floor, reached by an old stone staircase. A corridor leads to the two adjacent rooms (GREEN and VIOLET). Opening the door reveals a wooden staircase with a few steps down to the lower room with natural wooden floorboards. The bed sits between the outer wall and the wall dividing it from the adjacent room; there is little space between the bed and the wall, but it’s manageable if you measure carefully. The bathroom had all the necessary amenities and was very clean. In the morning we enjoyed a great breakfast on the café’s outdoor terrace. The building had just been renovated in a very basic way, which was practical but not luxurious. Unfortunately, when we returned in the evening after dinner the guest in the neighboring room was snoring loudly and the drywall wall let the noise through, including the endless set alarms the guest had from 5:30 to 5:50. We concluded that the drywall partitions were poorly constructed, surprising because a proper drywall divider (double sheet + high‑density wool/rock insulation + double sheet = 125 mm) is far more sound‑proof than a similarly thick plastered wall. Another shortcoming was the space under the door that let light and noise in. We also noticed the lack of a clothes rack; the room is small, but a suitably sized rack could be added, otherwise a longer stay would be difficult since the suitcase would have to double as a wardrobe.
