“The Social Place for Ornithologists”

Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. I accidentally booked the wrong year, but the owner reached out, clarified the mistake, guided me on how to fix it, and even gave me a free upgrade because the original room I had booked was already taken (thanks again!). Another highlight is that the setting is truly natural, with a bunch of turkeys roaming around the house, and it’s quite social, so you can easily strike up conversations with other guests.

The cookies are amazing, but stay away from the Japanese plum—you might not get off the toilet 😆. Nothing else.

“We’re full time travelers and this is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed.”

This is an amazing place to stay. The room was very comfortable in a large house styled like a ranch, complete with a hot tub, a full‑size guest refrigerator, three seating areas (one with a TV), and a big yard where we saw many birds, including several wild turkeys. Our host, Walter, was very friendly, helpful, and informative. The only minor issue is that it takes a 20‑30 minute drive to reach Durango.
