The location was ideal for rail travel, the breakfast was wonderful, the staff were top notch, and the hotel bar was the best. The stairs were a bit of a hassle, but that didn't bother us and might be an issue for others. Our bags were already in our room at check‑in, again thanks to the excellent staff.

The bar was great, the breakfast fantastic, and I slept well at night. The room faced the road and was a bit noisy, so asking for a rear room would be wise if noise matters. There’s no dedicated carpark, but a public one downhill costs about £10/night. Dropping luggage outside the hotel door is easy.

Every staff member we met was extremely friendly and helpful, and the value for money was great. The rooms feel a bit worn, but we only used them for sleeping and showering, and the price was still worth it.

Very centrally located, within walking distance of the railway station. The place is quaint and beautiful.

The location was excellent, close to the train station and a grocery store. The room was very comfortable, the bed was good, and the shower had hot water and good pressure. I left my earbuds in the room, contacted the hotel later that day, and they found them and offered to send them to me. When I mentioned I lived in Hawaii, I never heard back. I offered to pay for shipping, but there was still no response.
