“This was a terrible experience”

I arrived and was told my reservation couldn’t be honored, so I had no place to stay, even though I was exhausted and brought a basket full of groceries.

I appreciated the full fridge and two burners, and Keith the manager was a genuinely down‑to‑earth, big‑hearted guy who made me feel at home; the staff were all super helpful and sweet, the location was great, and the beds were comfortable. However, one of the burners in my room took forever to heat anything, so I only had one burner and had to borrow an electric frying pan from a friend—something I shouldn’t have had to do. Laundry cost 3.50 for wash and dry, which was crazy. Whenever I tried to leave, people smoked outside, and you can’t walk by without smoke in your face; the conversations were full of swears, and that’s not something I want to experience again. They should have a proper smoking area for these smokers. The trash room smelled even when there was no trash in it. I never want to use it again; their payment kept declining for the hotel portion, and Keith and I had to fight with them, but he finally pushed it. I had to extend but used a different third‑party service.

The studio felt like a small kitchenette, but the bed had a metal base that felt weird.
