From the moment we arrived until we boarded our flight, the service was incredibly welcoming; Le Refuge went above and beyond to turn our holiday into something beyond our wildest dreams. The location is excellent, the welcome is beautiful, and the staff are very competent and respectful; we feel at home with all the amenities. I liked everything.

Breakfasts and dinners are hearty, and the chef offered many local dishes that delighted us. He took my lactose allergy into account and suggested alternative meals. The pension is surrounded by nature, and our room had a splendid view of the bay. The two taxi drivers recommended by Mariana were great at showing us the island and introducing us to local artisans for souvenirs. Tourists should be warned that water is scarce across Rodrigues, so showers are quick and it’s best to schedule a hot shower toward the end of the day. We adapted quickly. Toiletries are not provided, so bring your own.
