“Lovely art deco gem on the old city waterfront”
The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from the center of Casco Viejo, yet it’s close to the water. From the rooftop you get spectacular views, there’s a nice hot tub, and several small parks by the water within a block. The building is older, but the rooms are nicely finished in art‑deco style and come with all the modern amenities you’d expect. The French restaurant/bar on the ground floor is quite attractive and enjoyable. My room was tall and narrow, with the bed and bath area in a loft space up a spiral staircase. It was pretty appealing, but there wasn’t much free space and the spiral staircase was hard to get down safely at night or early in the morning. The noise level was higher than I’d like, coming from other rooms and from the air conditioning system, which works well but feels a bit old and clunky.
