“Shappy rooms”

The staff were pleasant, but the rooms were very shabby – the paint that had been applied was awful and still stuck to wires and door handles. The wardrobe handle was missing, there was no remote for the TV, and the bathroom door didn’t close. At 5 am a fire alarm went off because a guest was smoking in his shower!

“Good for one night stop on the way back home”

I emailed the hotel to ask for a quiet room, and they gave me room 312, down the end of the corridor on the ground floor. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice, with a good selection of hot and cold food. The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. Parking was safe and the location was quiet. However, the rooms were a little tired, the bed was hard but acceptable for me, and the bathroom door didn’t shut properly. I’d have liked to control the heating in the room, so I used the portable heater in the cupboard. For some reason the tea and coffee making items were “hidden” away in a cupboard, which I didn’t appreciate. I was woken up at 5 am by the fire alarm, and when I finally rang the receptionist to find out what was happening, they said a guest was showering with the bathroom door open, which set off the alarm! Surely this couldn’t have been the first time that had happened, yet there were NO warning signs on the inside of the bathroom door??!!

“You get what you pay for!”

The location was good for meeting up with family, but the decor was tired and tatty in places.
