“I didn’t feel this hotel was very nice. I could only give it one out of five stars.”

Only the location is good. The room was very, very outdated; the beds had old mattresses and one bed squeaked so badly you couldn’t sleep on it. In the bathroom, several tiles had water damage on the ceiling, the bathtub was peeling and stained, and the hotel itself had a musty smell.

The beach is absolutely beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom in the indoor pool area was an absolute disgrace: it was infested with drain flies, dirty, and had no toilet paper. For the amount of money spent on a one‑night stay, the bathrooms should at least be cleaned.

I love Old Silver Beach; it’s one of my favorite places in the world—beautiful, warm water, tranquil setting. I love that beach chairs are set up and towels are available, that there’s both an outdoor and indoor pool, and that there’s a restaurant on the premises. The staff at the gift shop and snack bar were very helpful and friendly. We have been going there since 2016, and the building seems to need some TLC. The baseboards look rusted or something, the drape in our room was broken, and we had to keep it closed with books leaned against the window because we were on the first floor. The bedding used to be luxurious; at our visit, the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The description, although true, was somewhat misleading: it said oceanfront when I chose the offering, but it changed to ocean view when I purchased it. The view was of the parking lot, with the ocean blocked by cars. The breakfast buffet was not up to par; the made‑to‑order omelets were being made by inexperienced kids, and most often only one could keep up with the line (not his fault). The scrambled eggs in the line were cold.

“Nice beach spot on the Cape to launch from”

The beach location is somewhat rare for the area and offers full amenities, but there were lots of kids—vacation, not their fault, but it felt overwhelming compared to the smaller boutique hotels we usually stay at, though we understand.
