The front desk staff were very friendly whenever I needed anything, and they were quick to help. The rooms aren’t perfect, but for the price they’re acceptable. During the summer season I barely stayed in the room, so everything worked out. The beds and bathrooms are fine, and I know many people complain, but I keep coming back because I think people have high expectations for downtown Dover. If you want accommodations like that, you’d have to go to a larger hotel—Holiday Inn, Hilton Suites, Marriott—pay more, and book earlier to get everything you need. I’ve never had a problem with the downtown location, the staff, or the cleanliness, though some rooms could use better paint and the older headboards have marks. It’s not a Holiday Inn, so you either accept it or pay double or more to meet your expectations.

The location is the best part of the property, close to downtown Dover with great food and drink options. I liked the property, but the staff was not helpful at all. I almost never leave a bad review, but the guy at the front desk claimed it was 24/7 service, yet nobody was ever there. Once I waited about 10 minutes for someone to show up, and another time it took so long I just left. I usually never even go to the front desk because I pay online through a Hilton or Marriott app and get a digital key, so maybe that’s how hotels are now and nobody is ever at the front desk? If that’s the case, I apologize! However, I doubt that’s the case. The staff was far from helpful. Other than the poor and careless service by the gentleman at the front desk who was almost never available, the stay was good and the location is good. The price is fair. If this hotel could improve something, it should be the service, staff, helpfulness, and the cleanliness of the room.
