The place was comfortable and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was excellent. I didn’t like the £100 deposit process; it was a turnoff and added unnecessary complication and frustration to the check‑in.

Persoonlijk en kleinschalig hotel met goede faciliteiten. Vooral gecharmeerd van de persoonlijke benadering, de hygiëne, de regendouche, het goede bed en het fantastische ontbijt. Helaas door gebrek aan tijd niet toegekomen aan de wellness-faciliteiten, maar ook deze zijn veelbelovend. De locatie is niet heel centraal maar toch goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer. Het hotel ligt naast de DLR-lijn, wat ‘s nachts geluidsoverlast geeft als je het raam wilt openhouden. Inchecktijd van 15.00 uur wordt strikt gehanteerd

I appreciated how interesting and eclectic the place was, filled with plants, paintings, figurines, and other decorations—so much to explore, yet the hotel remained clean and comfortable with a great breakfast. The only gripe was that our room (the Stefan Zweig one) had a chess theme but no actual chess board, which would have been the cherry on top.

The hotel was beautiful, the staff wonderful, exceptionally clean. Breakfast was a dream and nothing was missing; the staff were attentive but not intrusive. The rooms were well equipped and comfortable—highly recommended! The train and bus connections were great, with a bus leaving right from the hotel. There was nothing to criticize.
