The hotel still has a fairly decent-looking pool and the bathroom was okay. The room had no hooks for wet items, the glass to the terrace cracked, the sheets were just big enough to cover the bed and the blanket was just a dirty piece of fabric. When I first said “hello” at reception, they asked if I wanted to check in early for 1500 LKR per person per hour, then offered a room upgrade for an extra fee (by the way the hotel was empty), which felt a bit rude—apparently the manager was also present. The other staff were fine. Breakfast was mediocre, the fruit didn’t look fresh, the omelette was over‑spiced, and the pancakes never arrived; I had to ask for them even though they were on the menu. The hotel’s appearance wasn’t very appealing, and we never received cushions for the pool chairs, as if lying there wasn’t desired. The elevator only goes up, not down, and everything was set up in a very bland way (see hallway photo), making it feel more like a prison than a hotel.

The beach was nice and the front‑desk area looked good. But there were no basic items like towels, soap (very old), or a mini‑fridge. The outside was muddy, and nothing was repaired. The buffet was overpriced, the sugar was outdated, and there wasn’t enough light. The value for the money paid was zero. Staff didn’t know how to provide towels promptly, and housekeeping staff needed thorough training. The pool area needed painting. Very disappointing.

The beach and pool area were good, and the staff were charming. The facilities did not match the photos in the listing; it was very old, poorly maintained, missing plasterboard in many places (no ceiling), and the pool hammocks were dirty and old—nothing like the pictures. Breakfast came with a menu of five items, but three were crossed out, leaving only two options: I ordered the second one and they had to ask if it was available.

The spot is spot on and the staff are super helpful and welcoming. I’d still suggest putting a water tap right by the beach entrance so guests can rinse their feet before heading into the hotel.
