There are two elevators, so rarely a wait for a ride. The bathroom/toilet was clean, possibly some new fixtures. The window (we were on floor #7) would open completely. (This may be not quite according to city code, so once they read this, they'll probably restrict the opening size again). The room door closed securely and did not "slam" when it closed. The shower appeared to be almost new (?). AT MY REQUEST (at the time of reservation), the hotel did provide a mini-fridge to keep some things cool -- that was helpful, although I have to say the fridge was set in place inside it's cubbyhole location -- but not connected to power, AND the power cord was TOO SHORT to connect to electricity without considerable effort on my part to find an extension cord and be able to complete the connection. So, 5 stars for complying with the request, but "zero" stars for actually making it work. ♦ These "positives" do not outweigh the "negatives" (see below), and I suspect that hotel management may excuse the many failings due to "ongoing renovations", but the fact that they rented us this room (for a 5-night stay) in this condition was kind of shocking to me. Is that what you get for a "bargain price"?. ♦The carpet was filthy (see photos); numerous spots & stains! Ugly! ♦NO in-room coffee, and none was available in lobby (you could BUY some in the restaurant); a kettle may be requested, maybe; BYOC! ♦There was NO small wastebasket in bathroom/toilet room! ♦Towels were threadbare! ♦NO hangers for clothing -- had to ask at the desk for them; at first they did not understand the request, I almost had to draw a picture for the clerks at reception; finally they comprehended. ♦NO ICE for beverages! (I know ice is less-often used in Europe, but they simply make zero effort to accommodate such a request)! ♦NONE of the shower stall soap, shampoo & conditioner dispensers were attached in shower; all were lying loose on the shelf, like a pile of junk (see photo)! ♦Mattress was a bit too firm; I do like it "firm", but this was like lying on a board. ♦The room a/c system was inop - it would neither cool nor heat (possibly it was turned off to save money?) -- as a result, I had to remove the duvet cover, and sleep with only "cover" over me; the room would simply not cool down! ♦The hotel restaurant was marginal -- generally okay, but it was often out of breakfast needs (scrambled eggs, fruits, butter), leaving the impression of a place running on a reduced budget. ♦There is an in-house bar, but it's only open for rather limited hours -- useless. ♦There was NO apparent continuous exhaust in toilet room! Odors can occur (!), + towels don't dry. ♦Your room will NOT get made up by the hskpg. staff unless you put out the "make up the room" tag overnight for early morning notification, circa 6AM. We discovered this the hard way: after our first night, we were waiting and waiting for the hskpg. staff to show up (to supply more toilet paper); finally at about 4PM, on inquiry at front desk, they checked "the list" and said we had not put out "the tag", so we were not to be serviced

Breakfast isn’t cheap, but the selection is great and it’s delicious. Parking and breakfast are relatively expensive.

The hotel is very pretty and in a great location, close to everything: pharmacy, supermarket, city center. The tram stops right in front, and if you don’t want to walk you can take public transport wherever you like. The breakfast is super complete and the facilities are very good—highly recommended. The room didn’t have a minibar, but everything else was impeccable.

The rooms were spacious, but the breakfast didn’t match the price.
