The only good thing was the location, right at the entrance of the old town and very close to a paid parking lot. Everything else was awful. I am deeply disappointed that a place like Pienza still has such a facility that should not exist in 2026. I have never felt such a suffocating discomfort in any other accommodation I've stayed in over the years. It is shameful, disgraceful, to offer a room that feels like a serial collector's den—disorganized, full of dusty useless items piled haphazardly, just to create an illusion of a lived-in space, but it only ends up drowning the room in filth with footprints everywhere (switches, handles, etc.). There are no free surfaces to set things down; you’re afraid to touch what’s there, and you don’t want to leave your belongings on those dusty, cluttered surfaces (by the way, there’s even a sewing machine). The bathroom is tiny, without a bidet, utterly unacceptable. There’s only a shabby stool, no storage, a very small sink, and the soap dispenser is empty. The bed is quite uncomfortable, with only one type of pillow, so I slept almost in the dark. The only positive was that we left the next morning feeling a huge relief. If I had found another available place in town upon arrival, I would have fled immediately! And again: is it even possible to find the croissants for the next morning under a glass dome at 6 pm, also filthy with unbelievable fingerprints, claiming that would be the next day’s breakfast? Finally, when I asked for a receipt, the owner shrugged, promising to give it the next morning, but nothing happened. I hope someone checks what I’ve written and revokes this guy’s license, or at least cleans up everything in that shack! Shame!

The spot was almost in the town center. The room was overcrowded with retro trinkets, too many pieces of furniture that took the breath out of the space. The sheets were blue, definitely not cotton, so with this season’s heat and just a simple fan you’re dying of heat. The bathroom mirror was dirty, the lamps on the nightstands were grimy, the shower had black grout lines. The “in‑room” breakfast offered only two slices of cake and coffee that you have to make with pods. The fridge had only a small bottle of water and was not very clean.
