Today is 14 September. I deliberately waited a few weeks after my stay on 22–24 August before writing this review, so the emotions could settle. I expected my opinion to become softer with time, but instead it became calmer and, I believe, fairer. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the strongest impression came from the people. Marina completely changed my first day: she personally called the museum to confirm the correct opening hours, quickly checked my room status, escorted me to the room, explained everything, and even wrote down the hotel restaurants, cuisines, and recommendations for that day on an A4 sheet. That is true 5-star hospitality. Kitty was 10/10. He cared about my safety during kayaking, joined me, told me a lot about Oman, nature and the resort, showed me the farm, and helped me plant a tree. On my birthday, he perfectly organised a very short window for me to take photos with my tree before my private tour. His punctuality, knowledge, care and warmth were exceptional. A special thank you to Vamshi. On my birthday I arrived at dinner upset after problems with Reception. He simply listened to me, spoke to me like a human being and changed my mood within minutes. He later arranged a speaker through management so I could quietly play my own music during dinner. Small details like this are what real luxury hospitality is about. Thank you also to Ali, Sufian, Yuli, the chef and the restaurant team for the attention, food recommendations and excellent birthday dinner. And thank you to the gentleman in the lobby whose name I unfortunately did not catch, who noticed me waiting and offered me tea. Marina, Kitty, Vamshi and the restaurant team: 10/10. My final rating for the hotel as a system is 7/10, mainly because of Reception. I arrived on 22 August after a sleepless night and an early flight. Before arrival, my birthday dinner, cake, room decoration, bouquet and other details had already been agreed by email. However, the receptionist handling my check-in knew nothing about it. Instead of checking the hotel’s internal correspondence, she repeatedly asked me who I had communicated with. Eventually, with an almost discharged phone, I had to search my emails myself and write the names and email addresses of hotel employees on an A4 sheet so Reception could find its own correspondence. I then waited for a long time with very little communication while she repeatedly left to investigate. Reception did not even have a Type-C charger available. I was also given incorrect information about the museum opening hours, received almost no orientation around the resort, and was not even offered a hotel map. Later I discovered that my room had already been ready while I was still waiting. Unfortunately, Reception disappointed me again on my birthday. I wanted to ask whether my pre-booked dinner could start a little earlier, but it was extremely difficult to reach Reception. The room phone did not clearly show the Reception number, so I had to call another operator first and wait. I received a proper response only around half an hour later, when the request had almost become pointless. For a 5-star resort, this is a serious weakness. The outstanding employees lifted my overall experience significantly, but it would not be fair to rate the hotel above 7/10 because of that

The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and the staff were very friendly, often adding new items to the selection. The entrance, however, was narrow; despite the large surrounding area, its design couldn't accommodate cars entering and exiting simultaneously, causing a delay.

We had an amazing stay at Al Baleed Anantara Salalah. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and our private pool villa was stunning—spacious, elegant, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. What truly makes this hotel special is the people. The entire team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. A special thank you to Gabor at the front desk, who made us feel so welcomed and took such great care of us throughout our stay. Huge thanks as well to Chef Ali, who prepared one of the best dinners we had, and to the entire restaurant team for the amazing service. Everyone was incredibly friendly, always smiling, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. Thank you also to Hussain for his great support and kindness. And a very special thank you to Hassan and Kamran for the beautiful room and birthday arrangements. You made the celebration truly special and gave us memories we will always remember. The restaurants and food were amazing, and the Omani coffee was the perfect touch! The private Spa was Amazing too A beautiful hotel made even more special by an exceptional team.
