The staff are very friendly and the location is great, but the entrance area and stairwell look unpromising, bathrooms are partly moldy and limescale, and the balcony had no key – it opens from the outside with a latch. When I mentioned this, the reply was “you’re on the 8th floor, no one climbs up.” The neighboring balcony is only separated by a half‑high wall.

The hotel exceeded our expectations; it had all the necessary facilities. We didn’t expect a fridge, safe, and a table with chairs in a one‑star hotel, which is why I gave such a high rating. The hotel was recently renovated and very clean. Our room faced an unappealing internal courtyard; other rooms had a beautiful view of the Neapolitan Bay, Vesuvius, or Castel Sant’Elmo.

The location is in the city and close to the airport bus, but the rooms are in an old building that houses many other hotels or businesses, and there’s an ancient lift that you have to pay to use.

The hotel was close to the ferry terminal and we had to leave early the next day. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly; when the situation arose, she did a great job. We received two rooms as booked, but first we got two rooms in different buildings. The room that was supposed to have three beds only had a double bed and no extra bed could be set up. We were given a new room, this time near the first one, which was fine, and we got a sofa bed.
