The host family were fantastic – they greeted us warmly and gave us total freedom to use the house. It was spotless and comfortable, and we spent evenings on the backyard grill while the kids played outside until late. The kitchen and that massive dining table are on the ground floor, with the bedrooms upstairs, which works great for groups. Small children might find the stairs a hassle, but the door can be closed off so they’re out of the way.
