“Am Besten war die Lage”
The location is excellent: right in the old town and just a short walk from Lake Constance. Unfortunately, there’s no way to make tea or coffee in the morning because there’s no kettle (or even a cup) in the room or hallway; you can only get hot water at the restaurant if it’s open. A bakery is also right next to the pizzeria.
“Hotelhorror”
I was shocked by how bad the dining experience was: after eating on the ground floor, I felt nauseous and could barely make it to the bathroom, losing small bits of food on the way. I tried to clean it up without cleaning tools, told the waiter, who said he'd handle it and left. I waited, then spoke to a second waiter who just shrugged and did nothing. The next day, while walking around town, the hotel manager, Frau Rita Bruno, called me. Instead of asking how I was or if the food was wrong, she insulted me, saying I should have asked for a bucket and cleaning supplies and that it was rude of me. She added, “If you’re sick, you don’t travel.” When I explained I wasn’t ill, only vomited after the restaurant meal, she replied, “I don’t believe you.” She also charged me for cleaning and wanted to know if there were “sickness traces” in my room. Even though I said everything was fine, she still entered my room, which had a “Please do not disturb” sign, to check. I think this should not be commented on further.
“Hat unsere Erwartungen erfüllt. Freundlich und sauber und super Lage.”
The location couldn’t be better; we were welcomed and bid farewell very kindly. The room is simple but clean, though the décor feels a bit sparse, it’s noisy, but that’s just how it is when you book accommodation right in the city where life is always bustling.
The location is great, but the stairs are a bit of a hassle, especially on the first floor.
The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at; the staff were terrible, the room was awful, everything was bad.
