Very nice stay with amazing breakfasts, but the shower lacked privacy.

The spot is great and the quality is solid, but there's no late checkout. Getting around Alaska is tough, and the Juneau airport isn’t the most comfortable place to wait for a flight. It would help if a boutique hotel could offer late checkout for travelers.

The rooms were charming with a cozy mountain vibe and included a hair dryer, toiletries, a fridge, a microwave, coffee, and a nice table and chairs. We chose the room with a shower (no jetted tub) and it was easy to step into; there was no door between the bedroom and the shower/sink, though a toilet closet was present. The bedroom was slightly offset from the bathroom, but that worked fine. The porch featured well‑maintained flower displays. Breakfast was good and included, and they could offer other meals at reasonable prices. A table with snacks and drinks was always out. You couldn’t walk directly to Mendenhall Glacier, but you could see it from the Mendenhall River nearby—see the attached picture—and you could walk to town. The desk staff—who were great—gave rideshare and taxi info. We used both, and they were reliable and reasonable at about $15 per trip. The inn suggested the Sandbar for local food; it was a short walk away and had excellent, fresh fried halibut! A grocery store was within walking distance, and there were streets and short walking paths, plus a short walk along the river. We were happy to be away from the downtown cruise terminals, yet still able to reach historic Juneau when we wanted. Gramma’s Feather Bed was closer to the airport (we couldn’t hear the airport noise) and provided a prompt shuttle. We would stay there again. Everything was fine.
