“Si può e si deve fare di più”
The hotel sits in a superb central spot, making it easy to reach the main sights. The building feels quite dated, yet everything is spotlessly clean. The room reminded me of a “grandma’s room”: it’s still fairly private, though the bed is a bit sagging and the pillows are very soft. Cleaning was flawless, nothing to complain about. The bathroom is also very old and has a few annoyances: there’s a constant, irritating noise from the water pump. If it gets too bothersome, you can unplug it, but having to do that manually is still a hassle. Moreover, the shower becomes almost unusable when someone in a nearby room turns on a tap, turning it into a real drip‑drip situation. The biggest issue is the poor sound insulation: any noise in the room echoes outside, and any noise at the door is clearly heard inside. This makes it nearly impossible to rest in the afternoon or early morning if someone talks or moves in the hallway. Overall, considering the price, we expected more. We’re in Sanremo, but not peak season, and the cost is still high for a property so old and with these problems. There is definitely room for improvement. A truly positive note goes to the owner: extremely kind, always available, and genuinely pleasant. That’s why I give an 8, a special thanks for her courtesy and hospitality; otherwise the rating would have been a 6, which is already generous.
