The room was clean. The hotel was very noisy and echo‑prone. That was partly because the terrace right in front of the room was constantly used by loud, temperamental Italian revelers who drank and celebrated. Moreover, the hotel is situated right in an industrial area, so the surroundings are dirty and run‑down. This seems to be a general problem in the country: nobody cares about litter and waste, which fits the local mentality of being cool, smoking, having the latest iPhone, and wearing branded clothes. Everything else is neglected, left to rot, and simply discarded.
