The apartment‑style accommodation could have fit many more people than just this single traveler on a bike trip. There were no towels in the bathroom – I only noticed after the shower – but that’s not the hotel’s fault. Also, there’s no restaurant open in town on Wednesdays, so I had to grab pizza from the bakery and eat it at Antonio’s tavern.

The welcome was very friendly, the place was nice and clean, but towels weren’t supplied—though that might be my fault for not checking before I left.

The spot is great and the old buildings are stunning; parking worked well and breakfast was excellent. However, I had to flip the tap on the sink, the upstairs bedroom window was locked shut, and the heat inside made it uncomfortable; the rear window had bars, which felt like a fire risk. We picked this place for the pool, but it was closed with glass panels ready to be installed in front of the area, so it looked a bit underdeveloped, though the place was clean and the beds were comfy.
