“Deceção total: nada neste hotel corresponde ao que promete”
Because it doesn’t fit the “what you didn’t like” box, I’ll put it here. The breakfast, supposedly varied on other days, was served buffet‑style and honestly one of the worst buffets I’ve seen. Pancakes were hard, fruit was served whole as if it were a last‑minute improvisation, and the bread options were just three completely dry varieties with no quality at all. The only “good” thing was that you could order boiled or scrambled eggs, but even that was a monumental disappointment. Both options took more than 15 minutes to arrive, even though there were only two couples in the room. And the worst? The boiled eggs arrived literally liquid inside, completely inedible. There was no explanation for the delay beyond pure lack of organization. Regarding the orange juice, we asked the staff if it was natural. The answer was a direct and almost indifferent “Compal.” The truth is that it tasted like water mixed with absolutely lamentable powder for a hotel that advertises itself as a higher category. The way it was said showed zero professionalism, almost as if they were doing a favor by serving it. Overall, the breakfast was another disappointment: poor, sloppy, and far below acceptable. The stay was very disappointing. First, the room was about a 5‑minute walk from the building where the reception is, and from what I saw on Booking, that wasn’t even clear. The room itself was far below expectations. The windows were covered by a panel with ropes, something completely absurd for a unit that claims to be 4‑star. The TVs, besides being tiny, worked by satellite and didn’t even have Chromecast, something basic today. I work in a 3‑star hotel in Lisbon and the conditions there are incomparably better. The toilet had bubbles in the flush and visible cleaning product marks inside, indicating questionable maintenance. The bathroom was fully closed and the exhaust fan didn’t work, damp and saturated with humidity. The room had two air conditioners: one in the living area and another in the bedroom. The bedroom one was so weak you barely felt it. We chose this hotel for the spa and indoor pool and it was a complete letdown. The pool was cold, constantly dropping even colder water, and it wasn’t heated at all as advertised. One of the lights was loose and floating in the water, a ridiculous danger, especially for a child. The Turkish bath, with a strong chemical smell, seemed to have been disinfected and sealed immediately, impossible to breathe in. The sauna had wood creaking with every movement, giving the feeling that it could break at any moment. As I mentioned, I work in a 3‑star hotel and the service there is far superior. At check‑in we were greeted by an employee who spoke so softly you could barely hear, with no sympathy or welcome, something basic in a hotel that claims to be 4‑star. At check‑out the employee seemed nervous and distant, didn’t even say good morning. He just grabbed the card and said a flat “thank you.” If you expect a pleasant landscape or an environment surrounded by nature, forget it. The view is simply of other rooms in the “vila,” beware!
