“gemoedelijk hotelletje, service kon beter.”
A nice, clean room. They promised to bring a key for the outer door, but that didn’t happen; when I returned after eleven I couldn’t get in and the rest (cafe) was closed. My partner was there, so she could open the door from inside, otherwise I would have had to spend the night outside.
The staff is very friendly.
The staff were friendly, but the room had old cracks in the glass, the window was completely broken, and the photos showed a single pane. A fan on the roof kept running all night, making noise that woke me up many times, and there was no breakfast available.
“erg teleurstellend en niet van deze tijd niet gastvrij mag niet een hotel genoemd worden”
The hotel doesn’t greet you warmly at the entrance and looks poorly maintained, with trash, chairs and boxes littering the lobby and stairs. A climbing plant blocks the doorway, and the air smells stale; the toilet is sprayed with chlorine to mask the odor. The coffee‑tea table only had enough dishes for two people and wasn’t restocked. We finally managed to close our eyes after 2:15 am on Saturday, August 15. The place feels like a dive bar where loud Dutch‑language music and drunken stomping on the wooden floor can be heard throughout the neighborhood, which was especially distressing for my sister who uses a wheelchair because of MS and can only travel once every two years. No one was present at checkout to notice our departure. The price was acceptable, but I would have rather paid €100 more than endure this hassle. This situation is simply unacceptable.
The desperadoos! And the camaraderie.
