The price was reasonable, and I could experience the toilet barefoot. The bedding was a bit sparse and had a distinct odor.

Amazing and incredibly affordable. The neighborhood is great and the vibe is welcoming. The host did her best to secure ferry tickets to Karimunjawa. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and filtered water is a plus.

The hostel sits on a quiet street and offers a self‑check‑in service for late arrivals, but the showers are in poor condition and noticeably dirty.

The staff are very friendly, even if they don’t speak English; they’ll help you. The hostel meets Indonesian standards, with mixed shower and toilet facilities, no separate shower tray, and average hygiene. Air‑conditioning is in the room but there’s no way to ventilate it. Only a small towel is provided, so bring your own, and the sheets are also mediocre. It’s passable for a quick layover before heading to Karimunjawa, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer stay in Semarang. No foreign guests were around when I was there, just locals who don’t mingle, and English is nonexistent. The value for money is average. There’s a laundry nearby with a very accommodating manager.

In the middle of town, many warungs open near the hostel, so far so good. The place is still under renovation and there’s dust; do you have to take off your sandals?
