“Lice in the sheets. Avoid.”

The place is close to bus stops and take‑away spots in Henlow, and checking in was straightforward with the landlady being helpful when I spoke to her. However, there were lice crawling over the sheets, on the duvet and pillows, which is unacceptable; nobody should worry about parasites in their bed. The bed itself was uncomfortable, and the constant noise from pipes kept me up all night, so I left first thing to avoid more bites. It was insane.

“A property that offers a lot, but provides nothing”

Finding the property is easy. The website says they serve food, but they don’t. The rooms weren’t cleaned, and the upgraded room had only four out of ten lightbulbs working, a sponge bathroom floor with loose or uneven tiles, and a bath still containing hair in the plug hole. Curtains didn’t cover all windows and the furniture was falling apart. The QR code for parking in the room didn’t work. I told staff early on that the room hadn’t been cleaned and most lightbulbs were mismatched LEDs that didn’t work; they promised to look after the shift but did nothing. If that’s what I was upgraded to, what should I have had?
