Located in Morillon village, Café-Hôtel Le Morillon, Domaine du Grand Massif-Samoëns, is 200 metres from cable cars and a 7-minute walk from Blue Lake Beach. It features a hot tub, sauna, steam bath, heated pool, and free WiFi. Guest rooms have telephones, TVs, and some have balconies. Self-catering annexes are 10 metres away. A buffet breakfast is served in the dining room with mountain views, and a bar offers a fireplace lounge.

The location and the pepper sauce deserve a Michelin‑star rating; yet, for the first time in my life I heard the manager yesterday about the lunch side, that there will be no choice in the cooking, the meat portion, it will be the chef’s cooking and we won’t ask for the clients’ opinion.

I’ve known this resort since childhood and it’s always a pleasure to stay at Morillon for its exceptional setting and tranquility; the stay was slightly ruined by my ignorance that the restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday… compared to the former owners, the breakfast was less convenient (no buffet and coffee served by drip…); perhaps it’s due to the end of season.
