The common area was fine. There was no key card until the second evening, and the room wasn’t in order.

“Great place for family holidays”

The hotel sits in a quiet, picturesque spot, offers good value, and the staff are very friendly and English‑speaking. The park of the old castle in Tiefurt is nearby, and there’s a bar, restaurant, and general kitchen on the ground floor. The electronic lock on the room didn’t work that night, the corridor had a low ceiling so you need to be careful, and road work on the bridge to the castle forced us to drive on Hauptstraße instead of Robert‑Blum Straße.

I love the view from the balcony, but the room we got was a single 2×2 meter space sold as a double. It was so cramped that we had to stack our luggage. Ten rooms share one toilet and one kitchen, and the smoke detectors are broken. Don’t book here if you want to avoid a lot of trouble.

“Für eine Nacht als Radwanderer ist es ok, wenn man nichts anderes findet”

The location near the IlmRadweg and the restored building’s look were great, and the food and service at the restaurant were excellent. However, the rooms were extremely small and overpriced for the amenities. The bed linen was torn, and the shared bathroom needs a renovation.
