A quiet spot in the replacement location Schwarzbach, friendly host, spacious rooms. The common areas were pretty dirty, though my room stayed clean. The construction crew was very loud and had a heated, noisy argument.

The original lodge was full, so I was moved nearby to another place run by the same team. This review focuses on the owner’s service, not the original lodge’s facilities. He was very friendly and personal, offered free train‑station pick‑up and dropped me off in nearby towns that were on my itinerary. He handed out brochures on local sights and suggested places to visit. Free bike rentals were included, and I’d highly recommend it for the great value.
