Not much to like, except it had a kitchen and it was convenient for Uber rides to and from the concert venue. The room was gross, covered with roaches and ants, and there were a ton of unhoused people outside—definitely not safe. I had to buy kitchen supplies, and I would not recommend this place at all.

I didn’t like anything except for the graveyard‑shift staff who was the only helpful person; we booked our room back in March, yet they cancelled it on the day of arrival while we were traveling from another city. They did the same to another couple, forcing them to scramble for a different hotel that night during the Aftershock festival. A woman named Hayden promised our rooms would be ready when we returned, but we were told all rooms were full. After that, the hotel tried to charge my card, and my bank flagged it as fraud. Our room wasn’t ready by 3 pm as promised; Hayden called at 6:50 pm to say it was clean and ready. We got back past midnight and were told that Harden had told multiple people their rooms were ready, but the graveyard‑shift staff had to inform us there were no rooms. The Aftershock experience was ruined, while other hotels and Airbnb’s nearby were booking for $800–$2000 for all three nights. Don’t trust this hotel for Aftershock or any important event in Sacramento.

The staff were awful, and the kitchen had no dishes; you have to pay if you want to use one. The area feels unsafe, with visitors shouting and having problems, and the staff never step in.

I love that the hotel has a kitchen, and it still ranks among my favorites, especially because it's super quiet. However, it used to be way better before people actually started living there; it’s not clean, smells bad, and homeless wander around the property. I had to change rooms because 229 smelled like a wet dog and animal pee, which I’m allergic to. The neighbors and the room below have animals.
