The place is in a great spot, the room felt super comfy and the shower was lovely, but the breakfast didn't match the quality of other spots I've been to; as an English speaker, a few more Western options would have made it better.

Everything was great. The location is superb. I travel to Guangzhou by train, and on the way I took subway line 2 (the blue one) all the way to Sun Yat Sen station (30 min ride) and then walked a few minutes to the hotel. All staff were amazing, always helpful, especially Jinny who assisted with the AMAP app. The Sun Yat Sen park is just 5 min away, a peaceful spot to jog, walk, or sit near the 163‑year‑old Ficus trees (banyan). It’s also a 20‑minute walk to the main shopping streets and malls, and there’s an easy connection to line 1 (yellow line) to reach other tourist attractions. Breakfast is great, with many options. Because the hotel is well known and on a main street, taxis can be hailed within minutes by the valets. I’ll stay at the Guangdong Hotel next time I’m in Guangzhou. Thanks again! The only improvement needed is that the Wi‑Fi code for the room is different from the lobby’s; that’s a minor issue if you have an eSIM.

The room is large and beautiful, and the elevators are fast. Not everyone at the reception speaks English, but someone is called immediately to help translate. Kitty spoke fluent English and was very attentive; as soon as she saw me at reception she came over to help, which I really appreciated! I was disappointed that the hotel can only be reached via a footbridge if you disembark at the Peasant Movement Institute of Gongyuanqian stop from the Guangzhou East railway station metro. The best stop is Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall; you must transfer from line 1 to line 2 at Gongyuanqian, then it’s the next stop. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall is the closest metro stop to the hotel, and you’re on the correct side of Dongfengzhong road to get to the hotel. With Didi/taxi you should expect about half an hour to reach the hotel; the metro is faster if you get off at the right stop and have a not-too-heavy suitcase, because there are many stairs.

The property may have been recently renovated; it is clean and the room is a good size. Nothing else.

Everything is perfect at this hotel. The location is very easily accessible by metro. The breakfast buffet is very abundant and varied. The staff are very friendly and professional. The proximity to the mausoleum and Mont Bayou allows for quick visits to interesting sights.
