“Good location however needs improvements”
Lost in the middle of the jungle, very green and a great surf spot. It was a perfect escape because there’s no wifi in the room, exactly what we wanted. The staff are really nice, matching the rest of the comments on booking. The surf instructor (Tim) is good and funny, offering great reading suggestions and travel tips worldwide. The food is good—especially the Tahitian Ceviche! The diner is very expensive and we weren’t told from the start what we’d have to pay. There are no nearby restaurant options; the hotel’s beauty lies in its isolation, but it feels really overpriced—90 FJD for three courses. The “continental” breakfast is very poor and everything is extra (eggs, juice, smoothies…). No price is shown for activities; the surf session costs 135 FJD per person for about a 2‑hour session (weather‑dependent). The hotel isn’t clean—we saw several cockroaches in the main room and around the breakfast buffet. The room was very dark, and we were in the part of the hotel that shares a building with other rooms. Noisy neighbors were surfing early in the morning and didn’t care they weren’t alone. The bathroom is poorly finished and the floor gets wet quickly. Overall, we felt we had to pay extra for everything when the location is already quite expensive.
